*summer update*
Lifetime is a beautiful facility, with great equipment. But for the price of membership, we shouldn't have to worry about finding a locker or shower, or our kids slipping on wet floors.
If you cancel and then want to rejoin the gym, you have to pay the joining fee AGAIN! Yes, you can put your membership on hold for 2 to 9 months. But as you put your membership on hold, they will still charge you $20 per month during you're completely in active from the gym, which if you crunch the math, comes to ~$180 for 9 months period.
While I love the gym, I (as many members are these days) am very frustrated with their unwillingness to make simple changes that would solve problems. For example, since making the combination lockers key-free many people leave them locked overnight. It is now difficult to find an open locker. But there is not even a sign up asking people not to do this. Many of us have requested such a sign, also saying that that lockers will be emptied overnight from time to time. The staff admits that they get many daily complaints/request about this, but that the forces that be are resistant to change anything. It's a simple sign. How hard can that be!
Good facility but price is sky high. Like Apple is trying to sell a $1000+ iPhone and create a class, this gym sounds about the same - all about create a class.
If you're looking to join a gym for a swim after work this is not the gym. Between 430 and 845 pm is children's swim class. There is only 1 lap lane open in the adult pool. And maybe 2 lanes in the warm pool. Equipment is good. Dressing rooms are clean. But its easier getting an open lane at a YMCA. For every other need, this place is great and worth the price.
Facility is nice. However, staff is very indifferent and frustrating to work with. Children's summer swim camps are poorly run. But arguably the nicest facilities in the area. Wish they could educate their staff about customer service & encourage them to be more receptive to comments and feedback. Anything you need them to do will inevitably take up a lot of time & effort on your part. For the premium price, you should be getting at least decent customer service.
So if you have a lot of cash to burn and belong to a certain class of people that have so much money and don't know what to do with it, feel free to join but the rest of the people that want to work out in a nice facility are just SOL.
Joining fee: $194
Monthly fee: $134
Amazing Gym! Super clean locker room and changing area. Great classes. Great on-boarding as well. And the food in the cafeteria is all organic!
The other big issue has to do with the family locker room. There is a small locker room with a few showers and two toilets to be used by all families with opposite sex children. That is fine. There are signs up saying that all others should use the men's or women's locker room. Still, for some unknown reason many people without kids come in, take up the few lockers, showers, and hairdryers that we are all scrambling to get to after weekend swim classes. Several women come in straight from the pool, dripping wet, and don't even dry themselves, or the huge puddle they leave at their lockers. Little kids run around in the room. I would be shocked if several haven't slipped an fallen. Again the staff have receive numerous complaints over the past few years, and despite promises to monitor for this, nothing has been done.
The children take over the outdoor pool lap lanes from 6-8pm. So, children swim classes now take all but a handful of laplanes. Not sure why I still pay to come here.
